September 3rd marks the 75th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. For 14 years, Chinese soldiers and civilians fought for this moment, with more than 35 million casualties.This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Courtyard of the Happy Way &Weihsien Concentration Camp. Today, let's refocus our attention on that extraordinary period of history through a video.

September 3rd marks the 75th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The Courtyard of the Happy Way &Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum opened on the same day and the plaques of “National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base” and National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit” were unveiled. The century-old Courtyard of the Happy Way ushered in a new mission. It is the first national patriotism education demonstration base in Weifang.

By hosting the opening ceremony and academic activities, the museum excavates the history of protecting the old site of the Courtyard of the Happy Way & the Former Site of Weihsien Concentration Camp to integrate it with the city memory, national memory and global memory, enhance the general public’s awareness of cherishing peace and building a community with shared future for mankind, form a strong atmosphere to promote the spirit of patriotism and internationalism, and to help Weifang to build an international peaceful city.

The museum was opened to the public from September 3 and will be free of charge. Visitors can register with their ID cards and visit the museum except on Mondays.
