Jining Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism visits Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum

On September 18, a delegation led by Xu Wei, member of the Leading Party Group and deputy director of Jining Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Yan Haobo, director of Museum and Social Cultural Relics Office of Jining Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Wang Li, director of Jining Museum, Fu Jifeng, deputy director of Jining Museum and other six people visited the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum. Li Shiqing, deputy curator of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum, accompanied the visit.

During the visit, the delegation had a detailed understanding of the historical context and current status of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and the former site of the Concentration Camp of Western Expatriates.

The tour guide described in detail the collection of books, cultural relics and historical evidence since the official opening of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum in 2020. Xu Wei said that he had a deeper understanding of the profound history and culture of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and the Museum.

Xu Wei said that he felt the profound historical background and unique cultural characteristics of the Camp through this visit. The Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum is the national patriotism education demonstration base and the national key cultural relic’s protection unit, bearing the historical memory of Weifang's Anti-Japanese War and witnessing Weifang people sharing weal and tribulations with people from all over the world. We look forward to better achievements of the Museum, he added.
